Teodora LF

1998 Pure Andalusian Mare (Cierva x Malibu K)

Teodora was my first Andalusian,  which I had waited 20 years for!   In late 2000, with the help of Nia Ridley, I found a 2 ½ year old filly for which they would accept monthly payments. As she wasn’t yet registered with IALHA, I named her Teodora, after my late father. I was so happy when she reached her 3rd birthday and I could start riding her – we even celebrated with carrot cake and a party!

As a novice rider taking Dressage lessons once a week, I was eventually able to start competing with Teodora in Training and First Level Dressage, and entering her in the NWAHA shows. She also especially loves riding out on the trails near our home in Maple Valley, Washington.

Teodora was my principle riding horse until we bought our stallion, Bandolero, when we gave her some time off to be a broodmare and my husband's trail horse.   Teodora has lovely and very expressive knee-hock movement and a spunky, fun personality.  Both of which she appears to have passed on to all of her foals.

Tea has given us 3 beautiful foals and we think it's time she had a break from pregnancy.  We have recently discovered that there are not many Andalusian horses available for sale that have been trained in dressage.  For that reason we are considering selling her to the right dressage home.  Tea has been with me for 8 years now and I am very attached.  It will be hard to part with her, but if I know she will be someone's number one riding horse, I think she deserves that kind of attention.  My trainer and I have been working on getting her back in shape the past few months, and she is now for sale at $19,500 to the right home.

Tea has a very smooth trot which is very easy to sit.  Her canter is also very uphill and energetic.  Although only shown to 1st level, she easily does some of the 2nd level movements like shoulder in and renver/travers as well.

Tea loves the trails and is very sure footed and brave.  She easily walks through water and mud, crosses bridges, and likes to jump over logs across the path.  A few years back we ran into bees and my niece's pony took off.  Before I realized what was going on (by getting stung myself) I held Tea back so she wouldnt chase after the pony while I yelled instructions to my niece.  Tea danced around a bit, but never bucked and never took off.  Later I found about a dozen sting bumps on  her.   We keep shoes on her front feet when we are trail riding often because she seems to be sentitive to the gravel found on the wider trails.  Otherwise, she has no need for shoes.   We have taken her out on the trail with my stallion when she has been in heat several times, and they have both behaved just fine.

She leads well and always jumps right into or out of the trailer.  She bathes, clips and stands for the farrier perfectly.  She has never been sick or lame and has had 3 healthy foals.  She has lifetime memberships with both USEF and USDF, and is registered with ILAHA, her registration papers are below:
